BIG TIME RUSH – Wichita hosted Rapid City for the first time this season for a three-game series that opened last Wednesday. The Thunder earned a 4-2 victory, but fell on Friday, 3-2. Wichita came back on Saturday and won in the final seconds, 4-3.
CRANKING IT UP – Kyle Crnkovic scored the game winner on Saturday with one second left in regulation to help push the Thunder past Rapid City on Saturday. It was his fourth game winner of the season. With the goal, Crnkovic reached a new career high with 21 so far this season. He is tied for fourth in goals and points (46). The third year forward from Chestermere, Alberta has assists in three straight games, is fourth in power play goals with eight and fifth in power play points with 18.
30 – Jay Dickman has goals in three straight games. He had a goal and an assist on Wednesday and on Friday. The veteran forward has 30 points in six straight seasons. Dickman is approaching 400 games in a Thunder uniform. He is seven goals away from tying Bob Berg in third place all time (143).
SUN DEVIL – Noah Beck tallied two helpers on Sunday afternoon. The Arizona State product is tied for sixth in points for rookies (32), second in assists for rookies with 25. third in power play assists (12) and first in power play points (17).
FIVE – Roddy Ross has started five straight games. He won two out of his three starts this week. Ross has seen 30 or more shots in three straight starts.
BACK IN BLACK – Spencer Blackwell had his first two-goal game of his career on Wednesday and his first game winner. He has points in three straight (3g, 1a).
15 – Wichita has fired 30 or more shots on net in 15 straight games. The Thunder are fourth in the league in shots for per game (33.81)
