A native of Moorestown, New Jersey, Joel Lomurno graduated from La Salle University in Philadelphia in 1992. He started with the Thunder in 1993 as an intern and is entering his 31st season with the team. Following the internship, he has worked in almost every department within the organization. Lomurno moved into ticket sales in 1994 and eventually became the Director of Public Relations and play-by-play announcer through 2004, when he was promoted to assistant general manager. During that time, he even dressed for two games as emergency goaltender.

Lomurno became general manager of the Thunder in 2008 and was charged with running both the Thunder and the expansion Wichita Wingnuts of the American Association of Professional Baseball, until the Wingnuts were sold to a local ownership group in 2010.

Lomurno was twice named Central Hockey League Public Relations Executive of the Year (2000 and 2006) and was a finalist for the CHL Executive of the Year Award in both 2013 and 2014.  In 2022 Lomurno was named ECHL Executive of the Year and was inducted into the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame.  Lomurno and his wife, Miranda, have two daughters, Cincy (8) and Charlotte (2).

Jason Mals joined the Thunder in 2004 as a sales associate and the radio announcer of the team. A native of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, Mals attended Penn State University from 1999-02 where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in Kinesiology and Sociology. After graduating from school, he was named as the Voice of the North American Hockey League’s Billings Bulls in 2003. Mals also worked for Steckline Communications for four years, hosting the afternoon drive talk show, The Press Box, as well as being the station’s high school basketball voice. He also served as the voice of the Newman Jets before returning to the Thunder in 2011. Currently, he handles the team’s public and media relations, sales and voice of the Thunder. He has earned several league honors, including the 2012-13 CHL Communications Director of the Year, 2013-14 CHL Spirit Award and finalist for the 2018-19 ECHL PR Director of the Year.

Mals has a 15-year-old daughter who he loves to spend time with away from the arena. He enjoys golf, football, his dog Addison and The Big Bang Theory.

Corey Wilson graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology in 2013 from the University at Buffalo. After he was done, he got his master’s degree in Sports Management at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. In 2018, Wilson started working with the Tulsa Drillers as a Ticket Sales associate. Tucker Stiles started as an intern with the Thunder and has worked his way up to Director of Corporate Partnerships. The Clearwater, Kansas native is a graduate of Wichita State University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Management and Workforce Leadership.

Brooks Anderson joined the Thunder as an intern at the start of the 2022-23 season. Born in Louisiana, Anderson has spent the majority of his life in Wichita. He is currently attending Wichita State University and is working on his Bachelors in Business Administration. 

He previously worked in sales at T-Mobile in El Dorado prior to his time with the Thunder. Anderson is looking forward to building a career in sports.

Angela Smith came to the Thunder after working for the New York Jets as an event operations intern and game day premium lounge hostess from 2018-21. She studied at Kean University in Union, New Jersey and earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 2020. She is now the Social Media Director, helps assist the sales department, serves as the main liaison to INTRUST Bank Arena and organizes all corporate fulfillment.
