Campbell Earns Goaltender of the Week

WICHITA, KS- Wichita Thunder goaltender Scott Campbell has been named the Oakley CHL Goaltender of the week for February 1st-7th.Campbell led the Thunder to three road wins last week, going 3-0-0 with a 2.59 goals against average and a .931 save percentage.  On Saturday, Campbell stopped 39 of 43 in regulation and overtime before going a perfect five for five to help the Thunder defeat Mississippi in a shootout.  It was Campbell's first shootout victory of his career.  Campbell currently has a 3.36 goals against average and an .894 save percentage.The Bloomfield, Ontario native has won four consecutive starts, all on the road, and has made 31 or more saves in all of them.  The rookie has appeared in 21 games this season, shattering his college-high of 16 during his junior year at Lake Forest College.It marks the first league honor for a Thunder player this season.  Campbell will receive a free gift from Oakley ... Thunder Sweeps Road Trip- The Wichita Thunder went 3-0-0 last week, winning all three of their games on the road.  The Thunder defeated the Tulsa Oilers 4-2 on Tuesday at the BOK Center.  Kevin Cooper scored twice on the power play, while Paul Kelly contributed a goal and two assists.  Scott Campbell saved 31 of 33 in the win.  Steve Makway had two points.Wichita headed south to Bossier City on Friday and earned a 4-2 win over the Mudbugs.  The win snapped a 13-game ... Thunder Makes Deadline Deal

WICHITA, KS- The Wichita Thunder pulled off a deadline deal with the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs on Monday, acquiring left wing Neil Clark in exchange for defenseman Jim Jorgensen.Clark is in his fourth season of professional hockey and joins Wichita with 77 points and 507 PIM in 186 career games.  The Burnaby, British Columbia native racked up at least 123 PIM in each of his first three professional seasons.The 28-year old Clark had three goals, three assists, and 67 PIM in 26 games for the ...
