Emma Bigham

Emma Bigham

Emma is 22 years old and is the dance captain for the 2023-24 Thunder season. 

This is her second year as an Ice Girl, but has been dancing for almost 20 years. Emma started dancing at age three and began teaching classes at age 16. Her favorite dance styles are ballet and lyrical, and loves teaching yoga and gymnastics.

She is currently a senior at Wichita State pursuing a Bachelors degree in Education and a Master’s degree in Administration. Emma grew up in Herington, KS and now lives in Wichita with my two (super spoiled) dogs Marshall and Mosey. 

Emma also works as a server and teaching assistant at WSU. In her free time, she love to read, shop, workout, and of course, dance! 

Hailey Cunningham

Hailey Cunningham

Hailey, 21, is a Wichita native. She graduated from Campus High School. Hailey spent one year in competitive cheer and loves doing promo for the team she grew up watching. 

She enjoys working out, walking her dog Azula and spends the majority of her time being a full time mom.
Emma Clear

Emma Clear

Emma is in her first year on the team. She was a gymnast for seven years and a cheerleader for three years.

She is studying police science at Hutchinson Community College. She currently works as a server and an online health influencer.

She loves going to the gym and playing softball whenever she can. She also played hockey, was a figure skater, and a speed skater. She has been skating since I was five.
 

Gabbie Hyde

Gabbie Hyde

Gabbie has been on the dance for two years. She was in competitive dance and cheerleader for six years, but took a break due to the gym closing.

She is a full-time student at WSU Tech for Veterinary Technician (Animal Nurses) licence, and this fall is her last semester.

She is a full-time mom other than school, dance, and work.
 

Payton Keller

Payton Keller

Payton is 23 years old and is the promo captain for the 2023-24 Thunder season. This is her second year dancing as an Ice Girl, and is excited to step into the role as one of the captains for the team.

She has been dancing for almost her entire life. Payton started at the age of two and has trained in many genres of dance but her favorite is jazz, hands down. 

After high school, she danced at Newman University for two years. Payton went on to dance for the Wichita Force and now the Thunder. She even had the privilege of dancing for the talent portion of competition in the Miss Kansas Organization where she currently holds the title of Miss Boothill, 2024.

She is currently a nursing student at Galen College of Nursing, obtaining her RN with the goal of completing her Nurse Practitioner. She currently works at the hospital and is a state board member here in Kansas for the National Alliance on Mental illness.

In the midst of work and school, she advocates for mental health around the state educating individuals on the importance of mental health education and speaking up about their health-mental and physical. 

When she has free time, she enjoys spending time with her friends and driving home to see my sweet pup, Nels.
 

Maria Layton

Maria Layton

Maria is in my first year on the Thunder Ice Girls. She is currently working for Genesis at the Goddard location. This January, she will be attending Hutchinson Community College and then after pursuing a career in real estate.

In her free time, she is usually running around with her friends or hanging out with her family. Maria is new to the promo team and  so is really excited to experience everything Wichita Thunder, and get to know the girls on the team!

A fun fact about her is she is the only and oldest girl in my family with four younger brothers. 

Trinity Martz

Trinity Martz

Trinity returns for her third season as a Thunder Ice Girl.

She has been dancing most of my life, starting 36 years ago at Young World. She danced at Sheila Skelton, Movement Authority, Kansas Dance Academy, Friends University, Nancy Hervey, and Jill Landrith. She studied under the best names in dance from all over the world. Dance and gymnastics have always been a way of life for her. 

She grew up here in town on the north side of Wichita. and went to North High and Wichita State. She was a dance major and cheerleader at WSU. She has been a professional dancer for 23 years for LA Underground, Art AID, Metropolitan Ballet Company as a Principal, Disney World, Music Theater and more. My favorite styles of dance are lyrical,  contemporary, and ballet.

She works at Genesis Health Clubs and has been there for the last seven years. She teach some of our Aquarius classes at a few different locations and loves her job.

Fun fact, She has three amazing kids. Trinity has one beautiful daughter., named Quinn. She also have two fun-loving little boys. Their names are Jude and Oliver. 

Emily Metzger

Emily Metzger

Emily is 23 years old and is from Wichita. For almost two decades, she's been dancing, and is excited to begin her second year as a Thunder Ice Girl.

Growing up, she spent many years in competitive dance. Her favorite styles would have to be jazz and hip-hop. She continued to dance in high school on the Bishop Carroll Pom Squad. Emily recently earned my Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management at Newman University, where I was a part of the Spirit Squad for all four years. During that time, she also danced for the Wichita Force for one year. Since then, she's been with the Thunder organization.

Professionally, she is currently a Project Manager in Engineering Operations within the aircraft manufacturing industry. Outside of work, my hobbies include reading, playing video games, fitness, and spending time with friends and family.

Regan Miller

Regan Miller

Regan Miller is my second year on the team. She is attending WSU for sonography and work at Genesis west central at the front desk.

She will be on promo side of things again this year and she can’t wait to talk to all the fans and see everyone cheering on the Thunder

She is a dog mama to a very pretty boy named Barkley. In my free time, she loves to spend time with my friends and family. 

Abby Mohr

Abby Mohr

Abby is in her first year as an ice girl. She has been cheering and dancing for about five years with a mix of high school and college cheer.

She is a sophomore at Wichita State University majoring in pre-nursing with a minor in sign language. She works at Wesley Children’s Hospital and her goal is to be a pediatric oncology nurse.

In her free time, She likes to go on walks with my dog, hang out with friends, and go to the gym. She is really looking forward to making new friends this season along with getting to experience The Thunder in a whole new way. 

Brailey Newcom

Brailey Newcom

Brailey is in her first year being a Thunder Ice Girl. She's been doing dance and cheer for about 15 years; a mix of competitive, high school, and college.

She is currently in nursing school to get my LPN. She's a huge advocate for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

She's really looking forward to this season with really getting involved in the community and making new friends along the way.

A fun fact about me is my family has an auctioneer business and she is pretty good at rambling off numbers.

Kyndel Randall

Kyndel Randall

Kyndel is in her second year dancing for the Wichita Thunder. She has been dancing for 12 years. Kyndel started dancing when she was three years old and took a break in high school where she continued to play softball. She then went on to college to play at Newman University.

She is currently going to school at Wichita State University to get my degree in Biological Sciences and a concentration in Pre-Veterinary. She is also taking classes through Penn Foster to get my registered veterinary technician license. 

She grew up in Dexter, Kansas and now lives in Wichita with my cute little miniature dachshund named Wynnie, who is basically her child.

Kyndel works at a veterinary clinic in Derby. On her free time, she likes to go to the gym, shop, and spend time with Wynnie going on walks and at the dog park.

Lexi is born and raised in Wichita. This is her second year as a Thunder Ice Girl after taking last year off. She can’t wait for the positive & fun season ahead with this team and to gain new friendships.

In her free time, she spends it at the gym, with my two boys and traveling/shopping every chance she gets.
 

Lizzy Tharp

Lizzy Tharp

Lizzy is back for her second season as a Thunder Ice Girl. She has been dancing for eight years. Lizzy graduated from Cowley College with my Associates of Applied Science. She plans to attend Wichita State Technical Institute next semester to further my path into the surgical technicians program. 

Currently, she works as a Pharmacy Technician and compounding medications.

When she's not working or dancing, she spends her time working out and hanging out with my dog and family.
 

Abigail Velotta

Abigail Velotta

Abigail is 20 years old and is in her first season as an Ice Girl. She has danced for eight years and is so excited to be on the team!

She has her associates in business management and is currently working as a full time educator at Lululemon.

She typically spend my free time at the gym, curled up with a book, or taking my beautiful dogs on walks.
 

Kaylie Whitworth

Kaylie is super excited to start my first year with the Thunder as an Ice Girl. She has been dancing since she was five years old. She was in both dance and cheer in high school and college.

Currently, she is pursuing my nursing degree through Butler Community College's nursing program. Her goal is to receive her RN and work in trauma at a hospital. I don't have a lot of free time between school and work and now supporting our Wichita Thunder!

She is really looking forward to getting back into dance and what a better way to do it than to cheer on the Thunder. 

Shelby Swanson

Coach

Shelby is in her third year coaching for the Wichita Thunder dance team, and she couldn’t be more thrilled with what’s to come with this new season.

She was a soccer player for most of her life, but ended up going to college on a double scholarship for cheer and dance in Great Falls, Montana. After four university years of moving and grooving, she graduated with her degree in exercise physiology and moved to Wichita. Nine months later, she was offered the head coaching position for the team. It’s been a wild journey, and she wouldn’t trade it for the world.

She is currently a personal trainer for Genesis Health Clubs and have a strong passion for health and wellness. She has a loud personality, a whacky brain, and a very empathetic and sensitive outlook on life.

She can’t wait to watch what happens to this dance team in terms of even more growth, and She can’t wait to watch these boys demolish their opponents for 6 months straight.
