RIVALRY RENEWED – Wichita returned to action after a week off and started a two-game series against Kansas City. On Saturday, the Thunder went to Independence, falling to the Mavericks by a 5-3 final. Logan Terness turned aside 31 shots, including several in the final minute to help Kansas City earn the win. On Sunday, Wichita returned home to start a four-game homestand. Jackson Jutting scored two power play goals in the second and the Mavericks once again held off a late comeback bid from the Thunder for a 3-1 victory.
BACK-TO-BACK – Michal Stinil scored goals in both games this past weekend. He has points in four of his last five outings. The Decin, Czechia native is one game away from taking over sole possession of seventh place in games played in Thunder history (280). He is four goals away from moving into a tie for fourth place all-time with Matt Robinson (114). Stinil is 17 assists away from moving into a tie for fourth place all-time with Bob Berg (187).
FINS UP – Ryan Finnegan has points in back-to-back games. He needs one goal to equal his career high and three points to reach his career high in that category.
NEW HIGH – Kyle Jeffers set a new career high in points this season. He netted an assist on the lone Sunday goal. Jeffers is two games shy of 100 for his ECHL career.
SHOTS – Wichita extended its streak of firing 30 or more shots on net over the weekend. The Thunder had 34 on Saturday and 30 more on Sunday. These efforts extend their streak to 12-straight games with 30 or more on net. Wichita is third in the league in shots for per game (33.82).
100 – Kirby Proctor hit a personal milestone. He played in his 100th pro game on Sunday afternoon. Proctor has been a solid addition to the Thunder blueline this season. He has 16 points (7g, 9a) in 38 games. He had eight points (2g, 6a) in 59 games last year in Trois-Rivieres.
