HOME COOKIN' – Wichita played longtime rival, Tulsa, this past weekend. The Thunder knocked off the Oilers on Friday night at the BOK Center, 5-4. Wichita returned home on Saturday night to begin a four-game homestand and earned a 4-1 victory. The Thunder have won three in a row and five of their last six games. With the win on Saturday night, Wichita went above .500 for the first time since November 1.
HEATER – Kyle Crnkovic has been on a tear for the Thunder. He recorded two goals in both games this past weekend against Tulsa. Crnkovic has at least two points in four of his last five outings.
MILESTONES – Jay Dickman is nearing two more milestones. He's five assists shy of 200 for his ECHL career. Dickman is also nearing 400 ECHL games, currently at 384.
BATES MOTEL – Peter Bates is also nearing a few milestones. He is close to 200 ECHL goals and 200 ECHL points. Bates has points in three-straight games.
SUN DEVIL – Noah Beck had another solid week for the Thunder. He has four assists in his last three games. The former Arizona Sun Devil leads the team with 18 points. Beck is tied for second in rookie scoring, tied for second among rookies with 13 helpers, first among rookies with seven power play assists and 10 power play points.
FIRST – Tian Rask had one of his best games as a pro on Saturday night. The rookie forward from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan tallied his first pro point with an assist on the game's opening goal and also named as the Great Clips Glass Rattler.
WORKHORSE – Matt Davis has seen 30 or more shots in his last six starts. He stopped 49 of 53 on Friday in a 5-4 win over Tulsa. Davis has seen 50 or more shots in two of his last three contests. He is first in saves (448) and fourth in minutes played (776).
ROWDY RODDY – Roddy Ross has wins in his last three starts. He lowered his goals against to 2.52 and save percentage up to .910. Over that stretch, he has given up just five goals.
SPECIAL – The Thunder power play started to find their stride over the last three games. Wichita is 4-for-11 (36.4%) over that stretch on the man advantage. The Thunder scored two power play goals in two of those outings. Wichita also killed off all seven Tulsa power play chances.
