Wichita is 0-0-0-0 vs. Tulsa

HEAD TO HEAD - This is the first meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Oilers. All-time, Wichita is 138-123-29 against Tulsa and 62-68-14 against the Oilers at home in the series.

SPECIAL - Wichita entered Sunday's game looking for its first special teams goal. They got more than they could bargain for, scoring twice on the power play and one shorthanded. In fact, Wichita also netted a goal five-on-five and one four-on-four.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Kyle Platzer was named as the Sher-wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week yesterday. He recorded five points (3g, 2a) in two games last weekend against Rapid City. He's tied for second in the ECHL with eight points (4g, 4a). Platzer has points in all four games so far this season for the Thunder. ROOKIE IMPACT - Guillaume Asselin added two assists and Shane Starrett stopped 27 shots to grab his second professional victory. The two rookies helped Wichita to its fourth straight win to open the season. Asselin netted his first two helpers of the year. Starrett made several key saves, including a save on the teams first penalty shot against this season.

CAPTAIN - Dyson Stevenson potted his first goal in a Thunder uniform on Sunday. He fired home a one-timer near the slot that closed out a five-goal first period. The Shaunavon, SK native was named as the team's new captain on Octobern 11th.

FOUR - Wichita opened the season winning its first four games. The last time the Thunder won their first four contests to open a season was in 2011-12. Wichita ended up making it to the CHL Finals that season.

TULSA NOTES - Connor Bleakley (3g, 3a) and Chris Joyaux (4) each have four-game point streaks to start the season...Devin Wiliams earned his first pro victory in his first start last Saturday...Tulsa has the second-fewest penalty minutes per game (11.25)...Tulsa has scored first in three of its first four games...Tonight is the start of a long homestand for the Oilers, having five of the next six at the BOK...

AROUND THE ECHL - There are three other games today in the ECHL. Kansas City is at Kalamazoo. Indy heads to Florida. Worcester goes to Colorado.
