Thunder Completes Trade with Rapid City Rush

Wichita, KS (June 13th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced this afternoon that they have acquired the rights to forward Scott Brannon from the Rapid City Rush. This acquisition completes a previous trade that sent Danick Gauthier to the Rush for Kale Kerbashian and future considerations.

Brannon, 27, spent four seasons in the Black Hills before heading overseas to close out this past year. A native of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, the 6-foot, 195-pound forward appeared in 200 games with the Rush, scoring 73 points (32g, 41a). He finished the season with the Dundee Stars of the EIHL, recording nine points (5g, 4a) in 11 games.

Prior to turning pro, Brannon had a solid career in the QMJHL with the Moncton Wildcats where he tallied back-to-back 54-point seasons and was the captain on the 2009-10 QMJHL championship squad. After his junior career ended, he attended St. Francis Xavier University for two seasons.
