Thunder Announces Full 2017-18 Schedule

Wichita, KS (May 16th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced today the full schedule for the 2017-18 season. The Thunder will kick off their fourth year as a member of the ECHL and 26th in the Air Capital on October 13th and 14th against the Indy Fuel.28 of the 36 home games will fall on Friday, Saturday or Sundays. Wichita will host the Allen Americans six times, which the most that one opponent will make an appearance at INTRUST Bank Arena. The Thunder will host Rapid City five times, followed by the newly-renamed Kansas City Mavericks, who come to Wichita four times.Making their first-ever appearance will be the Kalamazoo Wings, who will visit four times. Idaho will make their first appearance to Wichita since the 2015-16 season, playing a pair of games at the beginning of March.Wichita will make their first-ever trips to Kalamazoo, Idaho and Toledo this season. The Thunder will travel to Kalamazoo and Idaho twice and play the Walleye at the Huntington Center once on February 11th. The longest road trip of the year for the Thunder takes place in March as the team will be gone from INTRUST Bank Arena for eight games from March 10th to March 28th. Wichita's next longest road swing is six games, which goes from February 3rd to February 13th. Wichita will ring in the New Year with a trip to Allen on December 31st. The Thunder and Americans play four-straight times in the final week of 2017. Home games will start at 7:05 p.m. for Monday through Saturday games and 4:05 p.m. on Sundays.
