Ottawa Sends O'Connor to Wichita

Wichita, KS (Feb. 18th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced today that goaltender Matt O'Connor has been assigned to the team by the Senators from the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators. O'Connor, 25, has played in 26 games this season for the B-Sens, sporting a 3.05 goals-against average and a .893 save-percentage. A native of Toronto, Ontario, the 6-foot-5, 205-pound netminder signed with the Senators as a free agent in 2015 after graduating from Boston University. The third-year pro played in one game with Ottawa during the 2015-16 season.

During his three-year career at Boston University, he helped the Terriers to a Hockey East Regular Season Championship, Hockey East Title and was named to the Hockey East Second All-Star Team in 2014-15. He went 25-4-4 during his senior campaign that season with a 2.14 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage.

The Thunder finishes the home stand tonight against the Toledo Walleye at 7:05 p.m.
