Bunz Reassigned to Wichita

Wichita, KS (Dec. 31st) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced this morning that goaltender Tyler Bunz has been reassigned to Wichita from the Oklahoma City Barons of the American Hockey League by the Edmonton Oilers (NHL).

Bunz did not appear in a game during his second call-up to the Barons. The St. Albert, Alberta native ranks eighth in the ECHL with a goals against average of 2.39 and has a save percentage of .901. The St. Albert, Alberta native is tied for first overall in the league in shutouts with two.

Wichita closes out 2014 with a road match-up against the Missouri Mavericks tonight at 7:05 p.m. The Thunder returns home on Saturday evening to host the Quad City Mallards at 7:05 p.m. Saturday is Flight Safety Night presented by 7 Clans First Council Casino Hotel and Q92 The Beat. A portion of the ticket proceeds with the Flight Safety code on the attached flyer will be donated to the Wichita Children's Home, helping to provide items such as clothing, food and other necessities.
