WICHITA, Kan. (Dec. 17) – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's San Jose Sharks, AHL's San Jose Barracuda and powered by Toyota, are excited to announce that Rylan Parra was selected as our winner for the SCHEELS Holiday Shopping Spree.
Rylan has been an avid Thunder fan over the last year, who has experienced more in life than one could ever begin to imagine. Rylan’s family dealt with a personal tragedy in August of 2024, leaving behind himself, his sister, and his older brother.
Rather than isolating himself, Rylan made an effort to become an advocate for mental health and social development. On top of being a friend to all, Rylan is a versatile young man who plays various instruments for the El Dorado High School band such as drums, bells, and bass guitars.
Rylan is a giver, and less of a taker. He is illuminated with joy the moment he is able to make somebody smile or chuckle.
He joined Thunderdog at SCHEELS in Wichita this past Sunday for his opportunity to be the one to be receiving the love that he is so fortunate to give to others.
The Thunder heads on the road to close out the pre-Christmas schedule with a three-game series in Nevada against Tahoe starting tonight. Faceoff is set for 9 p.m. CST.
