Thunder Earns 4-1 Win Over Utah On Thursday

WICHITA, Kan. (Nov. 21) - Trevor Gorsuch made 22 saves and four different players found the back of the net to help Wichita knock off Utah, 4-1, on Thursday night at INTRUST Bank Arena.

Joe Carroll, Jay Dickman and Nolan Burke each recorded two points. Gorsuch returned to the lineup for the first time this season to earn his 50th-career ECHL win.

After a scoreless first period, Michal Stinil opened up the scoring seven minutes into the second. Kobe Walker raced down the left wing, left a drop pass into the circle and Stinil hammered a one-timer past Vincent Duplessis for his ninth of the season.

At 12:25, Aaron Aragon tied the game at one with assists to Derek Daschke and Tyson Upper.

Jeremie Bucheler re-gained the lead at 18:54. Nolan Burke tipped a pass back to Peter Bates at the right point. He fed it across to Bucheler and he fired a one-timer past Duplessis on the power play to make it 2-1.

Early in the third, Joe Carroll increased the lead to 3-1. Burke made a great play to get around a defender on the left wing and zipped a pass to the front of the net. Carroll outraced his man to the back post and beat Duplessis for his fourth of the season.

Utah pulled Duplessis with three minutes to go, but Jay Dickman tacked on an empty-netter to make it 4-1.

Carroll and Dickman have goals in back-to-back games. Burke has three helpers in his last two outings. Stinil scored for the first time since November 1. Braden Hache has three assists in his last two contests.
