Thunder Tabs Wilson as VP of Ticket Sales

Wichita, KS (April 17th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced today the hiring of Grant Wilson as the team's new Vice President of Ticket Sales. Wilson joins the Thunder after spending 16 years working in professional baseball. He began his career in 2001 as the Director of Group Ticket Sales with the Frontier League's River City Rascals. He worked his way up to become General Manager of the West Coast League's Cowlitz Black Bears in 2009.

He later served as GM of the Klamath Falls Gems (West Coast League) before working with the El Paso Chihuahuas (Pacific Coast League) and the Sugar Land Skeeters (Atlantic League). Wilson most recently spent two years as Vice President of the Great West League's Portland Pickles, helping the team play to 99.6% of capacity in their 2016 inaugural season.

Wilson grew-up in Scottsdale, Arizona and went to Cal-State Fullerton on a baseball scholarship. When a back injury ended his playing career, he moved into sports management.

He's is a life-long hockey fan, having played when he was younger. Wilson spent much of his youth traveling around the National Hockey League with his dad, Ken Wilson, who was a play-by-play broadcaster for the Chicago Blackhawks and St. Louis Blues for 22 seasons. Wilson is single and makes his home in Wichita.
