Thunder Re-Sign Reum; Add Christensen to Blueline

Wichita, KS (Sept. 9th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced on Wednesday that they have agreed to terms with defensemen Jannik Christensen and Dalton Reum for the 2015-16 season.

“Jannik was very reliable last season in Quad City and was tough to play against,” commented Head Coach Kevin McClelland. “Dalton was solid for us until he got hurt in January and I know he is itching to get back out there and play. Both guys will add depth to our blue line this season.”

Christensen, 23, enters his second season in the ECHL and first in Wichita. A native of Esbjerg, Denmark, the 6-foot-1, 183-pound defenseman appeared in 62 games last year with the Quad City Mallards, notching 14 points (1g, 13a) to go along with 62 penalty minutes. He spent most of his hockey career with his hometown team in Esbjerg starting as a 17-year old. Christensen represented Denmark at the 2010, 2011 and 2012 World Junior Championships and captained the Danes at the 2012 tournament in Alberta.

Reum, 23, returns to Wichita after having his season cut short last year due to injury. A native of Camrose, Alberta, the 6-foot-3, 200-pound blueliner appeared in 52 contests during his rookie year with the Idaho Steelheads collecting eight assits and 76 penalty minutes. Prior to turning pro, Reum played three seasons in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants and Swift Current Broncos. In 212 career games, he amassed 37 assists (8g, 29a) and 191 penalty minutes.
