Thunder Players Invited To NHL Rookie Camps

Wichita, KS (Sept. 5th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced today that forward Ryan Van Stralen and defenseman Marc-Olivier Crevier-Morin have been invited to attend Oilers Rookie Camp. Defenseman Keoni Texeira has been invited to attend rookie camp with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Van Stralen and Crevier-Morin were both signed to American Hockey League deals with the Bakersfield Condors this summer. Both played important roles during last year's run to the playoffs. Van Stralen scored the overtime winner in Game 5 of the Opening Round series against Colorado to force a Game 6 back in Wichita. Crevier-Morin was a key shutdown defender for the Thunder and had a solid rookie season last year.

Texeira recently completed his fifth season with the Western Hockey League's Portland Winterhawks. A native of Fontana, California, the 6-foot, 210-pound defenseman served as the team's captain last year. He sits in second place all-time in Winterhawks history with 344 games played and notched 143 points (39g, 104a) over that span. Last summer, he was invited to mid-summer development camp with the Vegas Golden Knights and earned a spot in their main camp last September.
