West Valley City, UT (Feb. 23rd) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, heads west this weekend to begin a two-game set against the Utah Grizzlies starting tonight at 8:05 p.m.
The Thunder closes out the road portion of February this weekend. Tonight's meeting is the fourth of the season between the Thunder and the Grizzlies. Utah swept Wichita back in mid-January, winning 4-2 on January 12th and 4-1 on January 13th. The Thunder are 1-2-0-0 this season against the Grizzlies.
The Thunder are coming off a shootout loss against Colorado by the final of 2-1. Utah has won three in a row after knocking off Idaho on Monday by the final of 4-3. Wichita sits in third place in the Mountain with 63 points while Utah is in sixth place with 50 points. The Grizzlies are trying to catch Tulsa and Allen for the final playoff spot. Utah is five points back of Tulsa and six back of Allen.
Ryan Walters leads the Grizzlies with four points (2g, 2a) in three games against the Thunder. Ryan Misiak is second with three points (2g, 1a). Marc-Olivier Crevier-Morin leads the Thunder with three assists against Utah.
The Thunder stays in Utah for another meeting tomorrow night against the Grizzlies at 8:05 p.m.
