Thunder Heads To KC On Black Friday

Independence, MO (Nov. 23rd) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, hits the road for the next two games starting tonight in Independence against the Kansas City Mavericks.

The Thunder and Mavericks play for the fourth time in the last six games with Kansas City taking last Saturday's meeting at INTRUST Bank Arena in a shootout, 4-3. The Mavericks have been off since last weekend while Wichita played a pair of games against the Tulsa Oilers, losing both contests.

Mark Cooper leads the Mavericks with 19 points (8g, 11a) while Jared VanWormer has 17 points (7g, 10a). Steven Iacobellis leads the Thunder with 14 points (6g, 8a) while Pierre-Cedric Labrie has 12 points (4g, 8a).

The Thunder closes the holiday weekend tomorrow night with another visit to the BOK Center to face the Tulsa Oilers at 7:05 p.m.
