Wichita is 3-7-0-0 vs. Allen

HEAD TO HEAD - This is the 11th meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Americans. All-time, Wichita is 21-41-7 against Allen and 10-23-2 on the road in the series.

TODAY - Wichita continues its five-game road swing tonight with a trip to Texas to take on Allen. This is the first meeting between the two teams since late January when the Thunder swept a home-and-home series against the Americans. Wichita grabbed an overtime win in Missouri on Tuesday night by the final of 2-1 while the Americans knocked off Indy on Sunday afternoon by the final of 5-3. Allen returns home for the first time in their last five games and won all five on the road. Chad Costello leads the Americans with 18 points (4g, 14a) against the Thunder while Bryan Moore has 12 points (9g, 3a). Matt DeBlouw and Jamie Doornbosch each have seven points (4g, 3a) against the Americans.

ON THE ROAD - Wichita is in the middle of its second five-game road trip in the last four weeks. Tonight will be the fifth time in the last six games that the Thunder travel to Allen in the season-series.

EXTRA, EXTRA - Wichita and Missouri have had the knack of playing games past 60 minutes. Tuesday was the third straight in the season-series between the two teams that went into overtime. Wichita finally found a way to get a victory against the Mavericks past regulation, winning by the final of 2-1 and improving to 3-3 in games decided in OT.

OWL - Drew Owsley played one of his best games of the season on Tuesday night. He stopped 47 of 48 shots he faced. He made a game-saving stop in overtime as Zach Tolkinen walked in alone, but Owsley came up with the save. He was named as the game's second star for his effort. Owsley has started the last six games for Wichita.

MILESTONES - Ian Lowe continues to move up the all-time leader board in franchise history. He recorded his 83rd goal in a Thunder uniform, which puts him two back of Jim McGeough for ninth place in goals scored in franchise history.

PAST REGULATION - Wichita is is near the bottom of the league with just eight games decided in OT or a shootout. In fact the Thunder have only been in two games this season that have needed a shootout.

Vincent Arseneau is tied for second with five shorthanded points and tied for first with four shorthanded goals...Wichita is tied for fourth in the league in shorthanded goals (12)...Wichita is fifth in the league in penalty minutes per game (17.90)...Wichita is 12-2-2-1 when leading after two...Wichita is 7-10-1-0 when tied after one...Wichita is 8-10-2-0 when outshooting its opponent...Wichita is 6-4-1 when playing on St. Patrick's Day...

ALLEN NOTES - Allen has won their last five games...Chad Costello leads the league in assists (75) and points (106)...Greger Hanson is tied for fourth with 70 points (32g, 38a)...Riley Gill leads the league goals-against average (2.12) and save percentage (.938)...David Makowski is third in scoring by defensemen with 47 points (15g, 32a)...

AROUND THE ECHL - There are 10 other games tonight in the ECHL. Wheeling goes to Adirondack. Indy is at Kalamazoo. Atlanta takes on Manchester. Orlando goes to Florida. Reading heads to Norfolk.
