Thunder Announces #ILOVEWICHITA Night

Wichita, KS (July 21st) - In accordance with the city of Wichita's 147th birthday, the Thunder are excited to partner with the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce to help celebrate with #ILOVEWICHITA Night on Saturday, January 20th when the Thunder takes on the Colorado Eagles. "We're thrilled that the Thunder is highlighting their city pride with a Wichita flag-themed jersey on January 20th," commented Ben Hutton, who chairs the Quality of Life Strategic Priority for the Wichita Regional Chamber of Commerce. "Hometown sports teams like the Thunder are essential to our community. They generate pride, help create jobs, and provide entertainment that attracts visitors to our restaurants and retail shops."

The team will be wearing a special Wichita city flag-themed jersey that night and will be auctioned off after the game. Fans will get a chance to vote for their favorite design on social media. There will be special discounts to fans who wear items promoting city pride and the city flag.

Chamber members will be featured around the concourse and on the ice during intermission. Fans will also get a chance to nominate their favorite local businesses in select categories for a chance to win a FREE advertising package from the team. Fans will be encouraged to tag their social media posts with #ILOVEWICHITA to show their city pride.

Hutton said, "The Chamber is all in when it comes to setting aside a special sports night to celebrate the positive things happening in Wichita. And we're very confident that Thunder fans will be have some creative #ILoveWichita social media posts before, during and after the game."

#ILOVEWICHITA Night is the first promo night announced to the fans. The rest of the promotional schedule will be released at a later date.
