Thunder Announces 25th Anniversary Promotional Schedule

Wichita, KS (Sept. 14th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced today the promotional schedule for the 25th Anniversary Season. Opening Night takes place on Saturday, October 15th when longtime rival, Tulsa, comes to town. Starting at 4 p.m., the Thunder will once again have their annual Opening Night Block Party, presented by Toyota. Details for the block party will be announced at a later date.

New promotions this season will be a Barry Sanders bobblehead giveaway, presented by the Boys and Girls Club (Feb. 17th). The first 1,000 fans through the doors will get this great giveaway. Other giveaway items include a T-Dog Gnome, presented by BNC National Bank (Nov. 5th), Youth Jersey giveaway, presented by Pizza Hut and Taco Bell (Nov. 19th), toothbrush holder giveaway, presented by R.A. Ruud and Son (Feb. 18th) and a T-Dog Growth Chart giveaway, presented by Credit Union of America (April 1st).

The Thunder will honor the 30th Anniversary of the movie, Top Gun, on November 11th with the team wearing a special jersey. Other theme nights include Heartspring Autism Awareness Night, WSU Night, Black Friday Zombie Night, Star Wars Night, Lego Batman Night, and Game of Thrones Night.

Familiar promotions include two scout nights (Nov. 19th and Feb. 11th), Teddy Bear Toss Night presented by Bank of the West and Hajoca (Dec. 9th), Thunderdog's Birthday Bash presented by Sonic Drive-In (Jan. 14th), Go Red for Women Night, presented by American Heart Association and R.A. Ruud and Son (Feb. 10th), and Police vs. Fire Game on February 18th.

Coming back this season will be the 25th Anniversary Thunder Alumni Game on April 1st. The Alumni game will take place before the Thunder take on the Missouri Mavericks and the team will wear a special throwback jersey during the contest.
