Wichita, KS (Feb.27th) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, announced that the team has acquired the rights for forward Miles Koules from the Quad City Mallards for future considerations.
The 21-year old rookie forward out of Los Angeles, California has appeared in 44 games for the Mallards this season, notching 13 points (3g, 10a). He posted career-highs last season with the Portland Winterhawks of the Western Hockey League, tallying 26 goals, 32 assists and 58 points. In 208 career games in the WHL, he collected 71 goals, 79 assists and 150 points. Before signing with the Mallards, he attended camp with the Washington Capitals.
Prior to his junior career, he played two seasons for the United States National Development Team where he split time between the U17 and U18 squads.
Wichita travels down to Allen tonight to start a two-game set against the Americans at 7:05 p.m.
