Wichita is 2-0-0-0 vs. Kansas City

HEAD TO HEAD - This is the third meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Mavericks. All-time, Wichita is 44-40-8 against Kansas City and 20-20-74 against the Mavs on the road in the series.

TODAY - Wichita and Kansas City play the middle portion of a three-game mini series tonight at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. The Thunder improved to 2-0 this season against the Mavericks with a 6-2 win last night. Tonight is the third home game of the season for the Mavericks, all of which have been against the Thunder. The two teams will finish the set of games against each other on Wednesday night at INTRUST Bank Arena. Matt Robertson leads the Mavericks with 10 points (5g, 5a) while Mike McMurtry has nine points (3g, 9a). Mark MacMillan (6g, 4a) and Zach O'Brien (4g, 6a) each have 10 points to lead the Thunder.Dyson Stevenson (2g, 5a) and Lane Bauer (3g, 4a) each have seven points.

POWER UP - The Wichita power play erupted last night, scoring on their first four chances. Four different players found the back of the net on the man advantage. It was a season-high on the power play and moved the Thunder to third on the man advantage (24.3%).

PLAYMAKER - Jamie Doornbosch and Lane Bauer each recorded three assists last night, which is a new team-high for helpers in a game. Jeremy Beaudry also had a multi-assist game, netting two helpers.

CADET - Shane Starrett stopped 41 of 43 shots last night, earning his sixth win of his pro career. The rookie netminder is fourth in the ECHL in goals-against average (2.13) and second in save percentage (.937). The Air Force Academy product has started three-straight games heading into tonight's meeting against the Mavericks.
