Wichita, KS (Oct. 24th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, are excited to announce that former Thunder forward Jack Rodewald signed a two-year entry-level deal with the NHL's Ottawa Senators.
Rodewald becomes the first player in franchise history to start at the ECHL level and work his way up to the NHL. The 23-year old native of Winnipeg, Manitoba appeared in six games last season, registering eight points (5g, 3a). He was loaned to the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators on November 10th and took advantage of his opportunity. Rodewald was tied for the team-lead in goals scored through mid-December and then signed an AHL contract on December 27th. He finished with 18 goals and nine assists in 66 games for the B-Sens.
The Thunder hits the road for the first time this season to take on the Tulsa Oilers on Wednesday night in the StoneWolf Casino Cup Series.
