Wichita, KS (March 2nd) - Idaho jumped out to a four-goal lead, three of which were on the man advantage, and skated past Wichita on Friday night by final of 5-2 at INTRUST Bank Arena.

Kevin Dufour and Travis Brown scored for the Thunder in the losing effort.

The Steelheads scored back-to-back power play goals in the first 12 minutes of the first. Justin Parizek gave the Steelheads a 1-0 lead at 8:33, firing a one-timer past Shane Starrett. Brady Brassart made it 2-0 at 12:34, recording his 18th of the season. Just over a minute later, Shane Hanna increased the lead to 3-0 as he found a rebound near the crease and slid it under Starrett.

Parizek scored another power play tally at 3:37 of the second to make it 4-0. He caught a pass at the top of the left circle, curled around and let a shot go past Starrett. Wichita scored back-to-back goals to cut the lead to 4-2. Dufour beat Philippe Desrosiers to the glove side at 8:01 to get the Thunder on the board. Brown scored at 12:38, beating Desrosiers off the rush with a shorthanded marker and his 10th of the season. Idaho shut the door on a comeback attempt less than a minute later as Michael Neville fired a one-timer past Starrett.

The third period got testy as Travis Ewanyk and Aaron Harstad each racked up 14 penalty minutes and two fights against each other. The two teams combined for 62 penalty minutes and 22 infractions during the contest.

Dyson Stevenson collected an assist and needs just one more point to reach 100 for his ECHL career. Lane Bauer added an assist, giving him 27 for the year. He is tied for sixth place in rookie assists.

Wichita went 0-for-6 on the power play. Idaho was 3-for-6 on the man advantage.
