HEAD-TO-HEAD - This is the first-ever meeting between the Thunder and the Grizzlies.

TODAY - Wichita and Utah play for the first-time ever tonight at the Maverik Center. The Thunder are coming off a loss on Tuesday night to rival, Missouri, by the final of 4-1. Utah won on Wednesday night against Tulsa, 5-2. The Grizzlies scored four goals in the third period, all from Barry Almeida, propelling them to the victory. The Grizzlies are in first place in the West Division, five points ahead of Idaho. Wichita is 13 points back of the Tulsa Oilers for third place in the Central.

LAND OF OZ - Landon Oslanski has picked up his point production over the last four games. He has goals in three-straight contests and points in his last four (3g, 1a). All three of his goals have come on the power play, putting him in a ninth place tie in the ECHL for power play goals (9).

WESTERN BOUND - Wichita travels west for its first-ever trip to Salt Lake City to take on the Utah Grizzlies. The two teams will play back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday and then a Monday afternoon meeting on Martin Luther King Day.

GOALIE MATCH-UP - Ryan Faragher leads the Grizzlies in games played, appearing in 21 contests this season. He is sporting a 15-5-1-0 record with a goals-against average of 2.13 and save percentage of .926. David Shantz leads the Thunder with a goals-against average of 2.96 and .897 save percentage.

SPECIAL TEAMS - Utah comes in with the league's 16th-ranked power play, scoring 23 goals and operating at 16.1% on the season. The Grizzlies' penalty kill has not fared as well, sitting dead last in the league at 76.9% and giving up 27 goals on the man advantage. Wichita is last on the power play, but has played better over the last four games (4-for-18, 22.2%). The Thunder penalty kill is ranked 13th-overall, giving up 26 goals and operating at 84%.

MILESTONES - Ian Lowe appeared in his 300th career game as a pro last Friday. He also netted his 200th pro point and 100th assist in a Thunder uniform on Saturday. The Bradwardine, Manitoba native has 168 points (68g, 100a) in Thunder blue.
