Allen won the first meeting 5-3. All-time, Wichita is 10-17-3 against Allen and 6-6-2 at home.

ROAD WIN - Wichita went into Rapid City on Wednesday looking for a split in the Black Hills and did just that. Nikita Kashirsky tallied two goals and Stephen Schultz scored the game-winner halfway through the third period to help earn a 3-2 victory. It was the first regulation road win of the season for the Thunder this season, improving the team's road record to 1-1-1-1. The Thunder are 1-2-0-0 this season against Rapid City.

KASH TIME - Nikita Kashirsky potted two goals on Wednesday, which is his first multi-point game of the season. The Moscow, Russia native has five points (3g, 2a) so far this season. He is coming off of a 50-point campaign a year ago with the Dundee Stars of the EIHL where he scored 18 goals and recorded 32 assists.

HELPING HAND - Ian Lowe pulled into a tie with Stephen Schultz for the team-lead in points, assisting on the first goal scored by Kashirsky and the final of his two, making a pretty pass on a two-on-one opportunity. All of Lowe's points are assists through nine games. The Bradwardine, BC native had 28 goals in 2012-13 and 14 markers to go along with 20 assists a year ago.

FIRSTS - Tyler Bunz claimed his first win of the season, stopping 21 of 23 shots in 60 minutes of work for the Edmonton Oilers product. He has made three appearances this season and improved his GAA to 2.60.

OLD FACES - Two former Thunder players make their returns tonight for the second time this season. Greger Hanson, who was a member of the Thunder's 2011-12 team as a rookie, joins Kevin Young, who won the Most Outstanding Defenseman Award in 2011-12 in the CHL, to face their old clubs. Hanson is second on the team in points with seven (4g, 3a) while Young has three assists in seven games.
