Boron Selected to Participate in Golden Goalie Program

Wichita, KS (Feb. 25th) - The ECHL announced this afternoon the goaltenders who will be participating in the 2014-15 Golden Goalie Program, presented by the MeiGray Group, which includes Thunder goaltender Tim Boron.

Fans had the opportunity to vote on the ECHL website for one player on each member team's ballot for the Golden Goalie Program and the Fantasy Team. Boron will wear a special jersey on March 20th. His jersey will then be available for bid through the MeiGray Group. To read about the full list of players and when they will be wearing these special uniforms, click HERE.

The MeiGray Group is the leading distributor of game-worn hockey jerseys and has sold more than 7,000 ECHL game-worn jerseys since 2002-03. The MeiGray Group, which has sold more than 50,000 game-worn jerseys since its inception in 1997, partners with USA Hockey and directs the NHL-MeiGray Game-Worn Jersey Authentication Program. MeiGray Group also partners with the National Basketball Association.

The ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in four states and has grown into a coast-to-coast league with 28 teams in 20 states and one Canadian province for its 27th season in 2014-15. There have been 541 players who have started their career in the ECHL have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, including 29 who made their NHL debuts in the 2013-14 season. The ECHL had affiliations with 26 of the 30 NHL teams in 2013-14, marking the 17th consecutive season that the league had affiliations with at least 20 teams in the NHL.
