Wichita Acquires Veteran Forward Rinaldi from Allen

WICHITA, Kan. (Nov. 7) – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's San Jose Sharks, AHL's San Jose Barracuda and powered by Toyota, announced today that the team has acquired forward Anthony Rinaldi from the Allen Americans for future considerations.

Rinaldi, 31, is in his seventh year as a pro. A native of Pierrefonds, Quebec, the 6-foot, 190-pound forward has only appeared in two games so far this season for the Americans. Last season, he started in Greensboro before heading to South Carolina. He finished with 35 points (17g, 18a) in 64 games.

He turned pro in 2020-21 with Kansas City and finished the year with Greenville. Overall, Rinaldi has tallied 83 points (39g, 44a) in 154 career ECHL games. He also spent three seasons overseas with Cergy-Pontoise (Ligue Magnus), Dundee (EIHL) and Tillburg (Germany3).

Prior to turning pro, Rinaldi played four years at Union College. In 140 games, he recorded 84 points (40g, 44a).

Wichita resumes action tonight at 6:05 p.m. as the Tulsa Oilers come to town.

Join us tonight for Native American Heritage Night. In conjunction with the Mid-America All-Indian Museum and the Wichita Intertribal Warrior Society, the team will take the ice for one night as the Wichita Thunderbirds. These beautiful jerseys were designed in collaboration with artist Taiomah Rutledge.

Enjoy a fun-filled night celebrating Native American culture, including special performances and vendors on the concourse.

Keep the excitement going after the game with a live jersey auction where you can bid to win your favorite player's jersey. Fans can register for the live auction at the Fan Relation table on the concourse and stay after the game in the glass suite to bid.
