Forward Kyle Jeffers Returns to Wichita

WICHITA, Kan. (Sept. 1) – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's San Jose Sharks, AHL's San Jose Barracuda and powered by Toyota, announced today that forward Kyle Jeffers has re-signed for the 2026-27 season.

"We're thrilled to have Kyle back for year two," commented Head Coach Travis Clayton. "His elite speed and scoring touch make him a great addition to our hockey club, and we’re excited to see what he can do in his second year here in Wichita."

Jeffers, 27, was claimed off waivers last October prior to the start of the 2025-26 campaign. A native of Oviedo, Florida, the 5-foot-10, 175-pound forward recorded 27 points (10g, 17a) in 60 games for the Thunder.

He is entering his third full season as a pro after signing with Savannah in 2023-24. Overall, he has tallied 51 points (23g, 28a) in 125 ECHL contests.

Prior to turning pro, Jeffers played three seasons of collegiate hockey split between American International College and Lindenwood University. He finished with 38 points (17g, 21a) in 60 games while also earning an ACHA title before the Lions moved to the NCAA DI level. Jeffers was a college teammate of both Michal Stinil (AIC) and Ryan Finnegan (Lindenwood).
