HOME COOKIN' – Wichita closed a four-game homestand this past weekend as the Idaho Steelheads made their first trip of the season to the Air Capital. All three games were decided by one goal with two of those meetings finishing past 60 minutes.
HEATER – Kyle Crnkovic had his incredible run of two points in a game stopped on Sunday. He finished with at least two points in five-straight games and has two in six of his last eight outings.
MILESTONES – Jay Dickman has three assists in his last two games. He is two assists shy of 200 for his ECHL career and closing in on 400 ECHL games.
BATES MOTEL – Peter Bates is also nearing a few milestones. He recorded his 83rd career goal in the ECHL on Friday. Bates needs 10 points to reach 200 for his ECHL career.
SUN DEVIL – Noah Beck had another solid week for the Thunder. He has eight points in his last four games and enters the week with a four-game point streak (1g, 7a). The Arizona State Sun Devil product is tied for seventh with 24 points, tied for fifth in assists (18), tied for fourth with nine power play assists and tied for first with 13 power play points.
FIRST – Jack Bar and John Gormley recorded their first pro goals this weekend. Bar scored his on Friday to tie the game with less than a minute to go in regulation. Gormley scored his on Saturday early in the third that ended up sending the game past 60.
ROWDY RODDY – Roddy Ross has won four straight starts. He lowered his goals-against average to 2.45 and save percentage to .911.
SPECIAL – The Thunder power play started to find their groove as of late. Wichita has at least two power play goals in four of its last six games. The Thunder are 8-for-29 over that stretch (27.6%).
SHOOTING GALLERY – Wichita has at least 30 or more shots in five-straight games. The Thunder have 40 or more in two of the last three and are averaging 38.6 shots a game over that stretch.
