WICHITA, Kan. (Sept. 12) – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's San Jose Sharks, AHL's San Jose Barracuda and powered by Toyota, announced the signing of forward Tyrone Bronte for the 2025-26 season.
Bronte, 26, returns to North America after spending his first year as a pro in Europe. A native of Melbourne, Australia, the 5-foot-10, 179-pound forward played the majority of the season for KHL Sisak (AlpsHL) where he racked up 48 points (15g, 33a) in 40 games. He also had 17 points (7g, 10a) in seven games with KHL Sisak (Croatia).
He also played 17 games with the Australian Ice Hockey League's Melbourne Ice, collecting 38 points (20g, 18a).
Prior to his time overseas, Bronte began his college career at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. He transferred to Michigan Tech University for his final three seasons of eligibility. Bronte's best year came during his senior campaign in 2023-24, when he tallied 14 points (6g, 8a) in 35 games.
In 2020-21, he was named to the WCHA All-Rookie Team and earned a CCHA title in 2023-24.
