Thunder Adds Three to Front Office Staff

WICHITA, Kan. (Sept. 17) – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's San Jose Sharks, AHL's San Jose Barracuda and powered by Toyota, are excited to announce three new additions to the front office staff. The Thunder have added Regan Cleves as a sales associate and color commentator, Jackson Balzer as an account executive in group sales and Dondre Kimbley as an account executive in group sales.

Cleves joins the Thunder after graduating from Central Michigan University in May 2025. While earning his degree in broadcast & cinematic arts, he served as a play-by-play voice of the Chippewas’ D-III club hockey team for four seasons and managed the team's public and media relations efforts. Cleves was also behind the mic during each of the last three American Collegiate Hockey Association national championship tournaments.

He hails from Grand Rapids, Michigan and his father, Randy, is the vice president of communications for the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins. On top of his sales role and color commentating, Cleves will help provide play-by-play periodically throughout the season.

Balzer joins the Thunder after graduating from Grand Canyon University. The St. Louis, Missouri native comes to Wichita with experience in retail marketing for the Phoenix Suns and a strong background in sales, teamwork and leadership.

A former hockey player at Grand Canyon, Balzer brings a passion for hockey combined with his natural talent for relationship building and is ready to hit the ground running this season.

Kimbley comes to the Air Capital after earning his master's degree in sports administration business from Southeastern Oklahoma State. After playing basketball at Ottawa University, he spent three years coaching basketball and training youth athletes on and off the court. Kimbley is excited to transition to the business side of athletics.

He is super excited to begin this journey and continue to make valuable connections in the community, and to learn as much valuable information that he can to help his career continue to flourish and grow in the future.
