Wichita Returns To Action This Afternoon Vs. Kansas City

WICHITA, Kan. (Nov. 20) – The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's San Jose Sharks, AHL's San Jose Barracuda and powered by Toyota, returns to the ice this afternoon for the first time since last Sunday to host Kansas City.

Today is the second-straight meeting for the Thunder against the Mavericks. Wichita won a week ago in the first meeting of the season against Kansas City, 5-2. All-time, Wichita is 82-58-24 against Kansas City and 43-27-6 at home against the Mavericks.

The Mavericks played on Tuesday morning at home against Tulsa and claimed a 6-5 victory over the Oilers. Wichita sits in second place with 15 points while the Mavericks are in third place with 13 points.

Cole MacDonald has been a solid addition to the Thunder. He has points in four-straight games (1g, 4a) and recorded his first ECHL goal last Friday night. His goal was also his first overtime game-winner of his career.

Strauss Mann was reassigned to the Thunder earlier this week. Mann is eighth in the league in goals-against (2.24) and is coming off his first North American shutout on Wednesday with San Jose.
