Stewart Heads Back to Manitoba

WICHITA, Kan. (Mar. 19) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the National Hockey League's Edmonton Oilers, announced on Saturday that defenseman Dean Stewart has been recalled by the Manitoba Moose. 

Stewart, 25, heads back to Manitoba for the second time during the regular season. The Portage la Prairie, Manitoba native recorded his first AHL goal on February 20 against Milwaukee. In 12 games, he has four points (1g, 3a) for the Moose. 

In 27 games this season for the Thunder, he has 11 points (4g, 7a). Last year, he finished his rookie campaign with 36 points (6g, 30a). Stewart was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team, All-ECHL Second Team and finished second for ECHL Rookie of the Year. 

Wichita closes the weekend on Sunday afternoon in Texas against Allen starting at 2:05 p.m.
