Wichita is 0-0-0-0 vs. Quad City

HEAD-TO-HEAD - This is the first of four meetings this season between the Thunder and the Mallards. All-time, Wichita is 21-12-5 against Quad City and 10-5-4 on the road in the series.

TODAY - Wichita closes out a five-game road trip this afternoon at the iWireless Center against the Quad City Mallards. Both teams are coming off of losses last night. Quad City fell on the road at Kalamazoo by the final of 4-1 while the Thunder lost at Fort Wayne, 6-0. The winner of tonight's game will snap a two-game skid as both squads have dropped their last two contests. The Mallards are in third place in the Central Division with 62 points. Wichita is in sixth with 36 points.

LONG WINDING ROAD - Wichita has played four games in five days in three consecutive weeks. Over the span of 19 days, the Thunder have played 12 games including today's contest at Quad City.

ROAD LESS TRAVELED - Wichtia will return home for a brief two-game stint against the Tulsa Oilers on March 3rd and 4th, but will head back on the road for a five-game trip starting on March 7th in Greenville.

FOUR - Wichita and Quad City meet for the first time this season and the first of four meetings that will take place in the next month. The two teams played each other seven times last year with the Mallards taking all three games at home (0-2-1).

RED LIGHT - After going four-straight games with a power play goal, Wichita has been held at bay over the last six games. The Thunder power play went 6-for-22 over their four-game stretch when recording a goal on the man advantage, good for a clip of 27.3%. Since then, Wichita is 0-for-21 on the power play. On the penalty kill, the Thunder have surrendered just one goal over their last five games, killing off 16 of 17 chances for the opponent (94.1%).

SIXTH - Head Coach Malcolm Cameron claimed his 333rd victory in the ECHL on Wednesday and passed Nick Vitucci alone into sixth place all-time. He also coached in his 606th game on an ECHL bench, putting him alone into ninth place all-time.

AROUND THE ECHL - There are nine other games today in the ECHL. Atlanta takes on Orlando. Alaska is in Manchester. Cincinnati takes on Kalamazoo. Brampton hosts Florida. Wheeling goes to Fort Wayne. Tulsa hosts Missouri. South Carolina remains in Rapid City. Indy is at Toledo. Greenville heads to Reading.
