Wichita, KS (Nov. 2nd) - Wichita took on Colorado for the first time since 2010-11 and came away with two victories. Read about the week that was right here.

LAST WEEK'S GAMES -

Friday, October 30th Colorado at Wichita, 5-2 W-Wichita had five different goal scorers in the game (Fiddler, Lowe, Martell, Sakaris, Baptista). David Shantz earned his second victory of the season, making 24 saves.

Saturday, October 31st Colorado at Wichita, 2-1 W -Newly acquired Peter Sakaris made a huge impression, scoring two goals and Grant Rollheiser shined in net with a terrific performance.

THUNDER FLY PAST EAGLES - The Thunder renewed their rivalry with the Colorado Eagles this past weekend, taking both contests. Wichita won on Friday night 5-2 and held on late for a 2-1 victory on Saturday afternoon. It was the first time in four seasons that the Thunder and the Eagles played one another.

PILING UP - It didn't take long for the Thunder and Eagles rivalry to go back to the way it used to be. The two teams combined for 80 penalty minutes and 20 infractions on Friday night.

ROLLY THE GOALIE - Grant Rollheiser earned his second victory of the season on Saturday as he backstopped Wichita to a 2-1 win over the Eagles. He stopped 34 of 35 shots, including 18 in the first period. His goals against dropped to 2.29 and save percentage to .925.

SCORING FIRST - Teams in the ECHL have had success in the early going scoring the first goal of the game. In the first seven games of the season, the Thunder have score first four times and are 3-1-0-0 when they grab the lead. Teams in the ECHL are 70-15-5-1 when scoring the first goal.

SAKARIS STREAKING - Peter Sakaris has turned into a nice addition for the Thunder. The Candiac, PQ native had three points on Friday night, (1g, 2a) and followed that up with a pair of goals on Saturday. He has points in three of the four games he has played since coming to the Air Capital and a three-game point streak.

HUFF AND PUFF - Andy Huff was activated into the line-up on Friday night and made two critical plays to help the Thunder to goals. He has points in three of the four games he has appeared in (1g, 3a) and a two-game point streak (3a).

PENALTY BUSTED - Wichita has been sparkling on the penalty kill at home so far this season. Colorado came in with the league's third ranked power play unit and the Thunder held them in check this weekend. Wichita has killed off the first 16 penalties its faced at home and is ranked number one in the league in that department.

HAUNTED HOUSE - Wichita improved to 6-3-0-0 on Halloween with its 2-1 win on Saturday. The Thunder last played on Halloween back during the 2010-11 season, winning 8-0 over Tulsa.

THUNDERBOLTS...Anthony Deluca leads the team in shots with 18...Wichita has the seventh best penalty kill in the league (87.5%)... Wichita is 3-0-0-0 when leading after two...Wichita is 3-1-0-0 when tied after one...Wichita is 3-1-0-0 in one goal games... Kenton Miller was called up to the AHL's Ontario Reign this past week...

Wichita begins a three-in-three on Friday night at Quad Ctiy. After a Saturday match-up against Missouri in Independence, the Thunder returns home on Sunday as they take on the Mavericks at 5:05 p.m. Sunday is Eddy's Everything Buy-In Night.
