LAST WEEK - Wichita returned home this past week after playing a pair of games in Kansas City. The Thunder hosted the Mavericks on Wednesday night, pitting the two foes against each other for the third-straight game. Kansas City won the contest, 2-1, in overtime as Darren Nowick swatted a loose puck out of the air just 19 seconds into the extra period. Wichita continued its homestand on Saturday and Sunday against the Allen Americans and split the weekend set. Allen won on Saturday night by the final of 3-2. The Thunder came back and won a wild Sunday matinee by the final of 6-4.

FIVE SPOT - Wichita recorded five goals in the second period on Sunday. It was the second time this season that the Thunder lit the lamp five times in one frame. Wichita recorded five goals against Rapid City on October 22nd, which came in the first period against the Rush.

GORDIE MAC - Mark MacMillan took over the team-lead in goals, assists and points over the weekend. He added a goal and an assist on Sunday afternoon to go with a fight, giving him his first Gordie Howe hat trick of the season. MacMillian, who is in his first year in the ECHL, has 15 points (8g, 7a) in 14 games.

FIRST TIMER - Steven Iacobellis netted his first professional goal on Sunday afternoon and then added another later in the second period. The rookie out of the University of UMass-Amherst has appeared in four games this season. Lane Bauer recorded his second three-point game of the season and his first multi-goal game of the year on Sunday. Chad Butcher has three points in his first two games since being assigned from Bakersfield.

QUICK START - Wichita has started games on the right note so far this season. The Thunder have outscored their opponents 20-9 in the first and leads the league in first-period goals. The Thunder have also outscored their opponents 25-13 in the second period this year.

SPECIAL - The Thunder continued to stay red-hot on the power play, scoring goals in two of the three games this past week. Wichita has power play goals in five of the last six contests, operating at a 37.5% clip (9/24). Overall, Wichita is 13-for-50, operating at 26% and ranked second in the ECHL.

SOLD OUT - Wichita had its largest crowd of the season on Saturday night, entertaining 6,417 in attendance. The lower bowl was completely sold out for the first time this season.

THUNDERBOLTS... Jeremy Beaudry is tied for second in the league for defenseman with three power play goals...Wichita has scored first in nine of the 14 games they have played this season and are 8-1 when scoring first...Wichita is second in the league in goals against per game (2.43) and fifth in goals for per game (3.79)...Wichita is 7-0-0-0 when leading after one...Wichita is 10-1-0-0 when leading after two...Wichita is 6-2-0-0 when being outshot by its opponent...Wichita is 3-1-1-0 in one-goal games...
