LAST WEEKEND - Wichita played three games against the Alaska Aces this past weekend. The Thunder claimed a convincing 5-1 victory on Friday night. The Aces took the last two games on the weekend, winning 5-0 on Saturday and then coming from behind to grab a 6-4 win on Sunday afternoon. The two teams will not see each other the rest of the way.
FIRST IMPRESSION - Nathan Moon was acquired in a trade with the Rapid City Rush last week. In his debut, he scored twice on Friday night to help pace the Thunder offense. He added another on Sunday afternoon, scoring from behind the goal line to tie the game at four. Moon has 11 points in 15 games this season, including eight points (2g, 6a) in 12 games with Rapid City.
TWO IN THREE - Alexis Loiseau recorded three goals over the weekend and is now second in the league in goals with 10. He had another multi-goal outing on Sunday afternoon, which is the third time this season he has recorded two goals in a game.
MOVING FORWARD - Nick Trecapelli has become a reliable option for the Thunder offensively as well as back on the blue line. He has eight points (3g, 5a) in six games and had a goal and an assist on Sunday. He has three multi-point games so far this season.
PRESENCE - Scott Greenham has been a calming, veteran influence in between the pipes for the Thunder. In his six starts, he has faced 190 shots, allowing 15 goals in the second period or later. After the first period, Greenham has a 2.03 goals against average and a .921 save percentage.
NELLY - Logan Nelson has five points (2g, 3a) in his last four games. The Rogers, Minnesota native added three assists over the weekend and has eight points (2g, 6a) in 10 games so far this year.
REGULATION IS BEST - The Wichita Thunder are the only team in the ECHL to not play an overtime or shootout. The leader is Brampton, who has had six games go past 60 minutes.
SIX PACK - Wichita is in the middle of a six-game homestand. The Thunder are 2-2-0-0 with two more games this week, both against Tulsa. Wichita has two six-game homestands this season with the next one coming in February.
AHL UPDATE - Jack Rodewald had his best game of the season to date as a member of the Binghamton Senators last night. He recorded his second AHL goal and added a pair of assists as the Senators snagged a 6-3 win over the Hartford Wolf Pack. Rodewald has four points in three games this week. Alex Krushelnyski scored on Friday night for the BSens., which was his first AHL goal of his career. Binghamton took two of three this weekend, gaining five points in the standings with wins over Albany and Hartford. The Senators lost last night in overtime to Bridgeport by the final of 3-2.
