Wichita, KS (Dec. 5th) - Wichita played one game this past week as the team began a seven-game road trip. Take a look back at the week that was in our Wichita Brewing Company Thunder Weekly:

LAST WEEK'S GAMES -

Saturday, December 5th Wichita at Missouri, 5-2, L-Missouri got out to a quick 2-0 lead before Ian Lowe scored late in the first. The Mavericks added three unanswered goals and ran away with a 5-2 win on Saturday night.

INDEPENDENCE CUP - Wichita had dominated the Independence Cup Series coming into the season against Missouri. Since 2010-11, the Thunder were 35-14-1 coming into the year against the Mavericks. With seven games remaining in the series against the two rivals, the Mavericks claimed their second Independence Cup title against the Thunder with a 5-2 win on Saturday night. The last time Missouri won the regular season series against Wichita was in 2009-10, when the Thunder went 0-8-2 against the Mavericks.

FIRST TIMERS - Despite losing on Saturday, the Thunder power play hit some firsts on the season. Ian Lowe and Donnie Harris scored on the man advantage, giving the Thunder their first game of the year with two power play goals in a game. Lowe's tally was on a two-man advantage, which was also a first. Lastly, the power play found the net for the first time on the road this year. Over the last four games, Wichita has gone 4-for-14 on the man advantage, good for a clip of 28.6%.

BUSY WEEK - After playing just one game last week, the Thunder will play four games in five nights starting on Tuesday in Rapid City. After a one-game trip to the Black Hills, the Thunder head south to Fort Collins to face the Colorado Eagles on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

ROAD TRIPPIN' - Wichita is in the beginning of a seven-game road trip that started on Saturday night. The Thunder will have another trip later in the season where the team will be away from home for seven-straight. From Sunday, February 28th to Sunday, March 13th, Wichita will be away from the confines of INTRUST Bank Arena.

SCORING EARLY - Out of the 40 goals the Thunder have scored this season, 18 of those have come in the first period.

TEAM LEAD - Peter Sakaris recorded his first assist in the last two games, finding Landon Oslanski in the slot that triggered the Thunder's first goal on Saturday night. He has three assists in his last five games and leads the team in points with 13.

MILESTONES - Ian Lowe hit a milestone, notching his 100th ECHL point last week. He needs 14 more games to have played in 300 as a pro. He also needs five more points to hit the 200 point plateau. The fifth-year pro out of Bradwardine, BC is currently in his fourth season in the Air Capital. 160 of his 195 points have come donning Thunder blue.

THUNDERBOLTS...Peter Sakaris and Danick Gauthier leads the team in shots with 49...Martin Nemcik and Landon Oslanksi picked assists in their first games in a Thunder uniform on Saturday at Missouri...Wichita's penalty kill is ranked ninth at home (86%) and 13th overall (83.1%)... Wichita is 4-0-0-1 when leading after two...Wichita is 3-3-0-0 when tied after one...Wichita is 4-3-0-1 in one goal games...

Wichita continues its seven-game road swing tomorrow night with its first visit to the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center against Rapid City at 7:35 p.m.
