Wichita, KS (Dec. 14th) - Wichita finished its western swing this past week with games against Rapid City and Colorado. Get caught up on the week that was in this edition of Thunder Weekly.

LAST WEEK'S GAMES -

Tuesday, December 8th Wichita at Rapid City, 7-2, L-Rapid City scored five unanswered goals on their way to a 7-2 victory. Michael Neal and Dean Chelios provided the Thunder offense.

Wednesday, December 9th Wichita at Colorado, 2-1, L-Colorado hopped out in front by two goals before Kenton Miller cut the lead to one, but the Eagles held off the Thunder's late charge.

Friday, December 11th Wichita at Colorado, 3-2, L- Joey Sides scored his first of the season before Colorado scored three unanswered goals. Landon Oslanski cut the lead to one, but that was the closest Wichita would get.

Saturday, December 12th Wichita at Colorado, 4-0, L-Behind a 20-save shutout from Eric Levine and two from Adrian Veideman, Cololrado cruised to a 4-0 victory on Saturday night.

WESTERN SWING - Wichita made its final trip to the Budweiser Events Center this past week. The Thunder traveled to Rapid City on Tuesday and followed that with a trip to northern Colorado on Wednesday through Saturday. Wichita will face the Eagles one more time this season, which is on Friday, February 5th at INTRUST Bank Arena. The Thunder has one more trip to the Black Hills with a pair of games in the beginning of April.

STONEWOLF CASINO CUP - Wichita and Tulsa will resume their longtime rivalry with a pair of games at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK. Wichita is 2-2-0-0 in the StoneWolf Casino Cup series so far this season. The two teams have played each other 268 times with Wichita going 59-62-11 on the road in the series.

FIRST TIMERS - Joey Sides, Dean Chelios and Landon Oslanski recorded their first goals in a Thunder uniform over the past week. Chelios scored his first on Tuesday night against Rapid City. Both Sides and Oslanski scored on Friday night in a 3-2 loss at Colorado.

SCORING EARLY - Out of the 45 goals the Thunder have scored this season, 20 of those have come in the first period.

MILESTONES - Ian Lowe is close to reaching two more milestones. He needs 10 more games to reach 300 as a pro. He also needs four more points to hit the 200-point plateau. The fifth-year pro out of Bradwardine, BC is currently in his fourth season in the Air Capital. 161 of his 196 points have come donning Thunder blue. With one more game, Erick Lizon will reach 200 playing in the ECHL.

THE FORCE RETURNS - Wichita returns home on Sunday to host the Cincinnati Cyclones for the first time in franchise history. Sunday night is also Star Wars Night presented by Wichita Youth Hockey Association and Dunkin Donuts. The Thunder will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off after the game with the proceeds benefiting the WYHA. Characters from the movie will be on hand taking pictures and walking around the concourse

THUNDERBOLTS...Landon Oslanski leads the team in shots with 59......Wichita's penalty kill is ranked seventh at home (86%) and 14th overall (82.6%)... Wichita is 4-0-0-1 when leading after two...Wichita is 2-5-0-0 when outshooting its opponent...Wichita is 4-5-0-1 in one goal games...

Wichita continues its seven-game road swing Friday night with a visit to the BOK Center against Tulsa at 7:05 p.m.
