Thunder Swaps Defenseman with Atlanta

Wichita, KS (Jan. 18th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced this morning that the team has acquired defenseman Jacob Bolton from the Atlanta Gladiators for defenseman Nick Trecapelli.

Bolton, 24, completed a four-year NCAA career at Holy Cross College last season and joined the Gladiators at the end of the 2015-16 campaign. A native of Ellington, Connecticut, the 6-foot-2, 223-pound blueliner has appeared in 25 games for Atlanta, tallying 10 points (1g, 9a).

He set career-highs during his senior year at Holy Cross, collecting 17 assists, +17 rating and recorded 18 points (1g, 17a) in 35 games. He also served as an alternate captain that same season.

Wichita has a short break for the All-Star Game this week and will resume play on Friday night on the road against the Allen Americans starting at 7:05 p.m.
