Wichita, KS (Nov. 19th) - Michael Garteig stopped 36 shots and Daniel Moynihan scored twice to help the visitors from Alaska claim a 5-0 win on Saturday night at INTRUST Bank Arena. Stephen Perfetto got things started at 6:31 of the first as he poked home a rebound that Drew Owsley appeared to have and made it 1-0.
The Aces broke open the game in the second with four goals, two from Daniel Moynihan, one from Tommy Olczyk and another from Tim Wallace. Moynihan scored his first at 5:17 to make it 2-0. The Aces made it 3-0 just 37 seconds later as Wallace found the net. Owsley was pulled at that point and Scott Greenham came on in relief. He didn't fair much better, giving up a goal at 15:25 to Olczyk that increased the lead to 4-0. Moynihan book-ended the frame with his second of the contest at 16:01 and closed out the scoring.
Wichita outshot the Aces 17-6 in the final frame, but Garteig stood tall and claimed his first professional shutout.
Owsley suffered the loss, stopping 30 of 33 shots and came back into the game at the start of the third. Garteig earns his sixth win of the season, stopping all 36 shots.
The Thunder went 0-for-2 on the power play. Alaska went 0-for-1 on the man advantage.
