Thunder Partners With NBA's Thunder For Second Year

Wichita, KS (Jan. 5th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL Affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, announced this afternoon the return of the OKC Thunder Experience for the second year in a row. OKC Thunder Night will take place on Friday, January 12th when the Thunder hosts the Utah Grizzlies.

Rumble, the Thunder Girls, Thunder Drummers and Raising Cane's Storm Chasers will take part in the night, connecting with fans throughout the arena and providing in-game entertainment.

"We are excited to make the trip to our neighboring state to thank our fans in person and bring the Thunder experience to them," said Brian Byrnes, Oklahoma City Thunder senior vice president of Sales and Marketing. "We've enjoyed tremendous support from fans in Kansas who regularly tune in to Thunder games on FOX Sports, interact with us via social media and travel to Chesapeake Energy Arena for games."

Thunder entertainers will take part in additional events throughout the community on Friday, including a Thunder Youth Basketball Camp at the Wichita Children's Home and a Thunder Rally at Allison Traditional Magnet Middle School. The Thunder will return to Wichita on Wednesday, Feb. 28 to host a watch party as the Thunder takes on the Mavericks in Dallas.

Additionally, the Oklahoma City Blue, the NBA G League affiliate of the Thunder, will host a Field Trip Day game at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita on Feb. 28. The game will mark the first time for the Blue to play in Wichita. For more information on Field Trip Day in Wichita, click here.

The Thunder returns to action this Friday night against the Quad City Mallards starting at 7:05 p.m.
