Thunder Partner with Movember Foundation

Wichita, KS (November 3rd) - The Wichita Thunder, proud member of the ECHL and powered by Toyota, are excited to announce its partnership with the Movember Foundation to help raise awareness for Men's Health during the month of November.

Each player will have their own fundraising page and a team page where fans can go and donate. The month will culminate to our Movember Night on November 20th, presented by Get a Move On and Freddy's Frozen Custard and Steakburgers. There will a special ticket package announced at a later date that fans can purchase and also donate a portion of the proceeds to the cause.

The Movember Foundation is a global charity committed to men living happier, healthier, longer lives. Since 2003, millions have joined the men's health movement, raising $650 million and funding over 1,000 programs focusing on prostate cancer, testicular cancer, poor mental health and physical inactivity.

About the ECHL

The ECHL began in 1988-89 with five teams in four states and has grown into a coast-to-coast league with 28 teams in 20 states and one Canadian province for its 27th season in 2014-15. There have been 541 players who have started their career in the ECHL have gone on to play in the National Hockey League, including 29 who made their NHL debuts in the 2013-14 season. The ECHL had affiliations with 26 of the 30 NHL teams in 2013-14, marking the 17th consecutive season that the league had affiliations with at least 20 teams in the NHL.
