Wichita is 5-3-3-0 vs. Missouri

HEAD TO HEAD - This is the 12th meeting of the season between the Thunder and the Mavericks. All-time, Wichita is 42-37-7 against Missouri and 18-18-1 on the road in the series.

TODAY - Wichita and Missouri play the back end of a home-and-home series tonight at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena. The Thunder are 5-3-3-0 in the Visit Wichita, Visit Independence Cup Series. Missouri claimed a 4-2 victory last night and sits two points back of the Alaska Aces for the final playoff spot in the Mountain Division. Wichita is looking to stop a four-game skid while Missouri has won its last two games. Matt Finn, who had two points last night, leads the Mavericks with 11 points (5g, 6a) against Wichita this season. Dane Fox has nine points (2g, 7a) in the season-series. Matt DeBlouw (4g, 5a) and Jamie Doornbosch (3g, 6a) each have nine points against Missouri this season.

SWAP - Zach O'Brien was loaned to the Binghamton Senators on Thursday. The fourth year forward from St. John's, NL has 19 points (6g, 13a) in 24 games for the Thunder. He has 174 of American Hockey League experience, having played for St. John's, Manchester and Chicago. Ryan Rupert re-joins the team after being sent down from the Binghamton Senators. He has 16 points (6g, 10a) in 19 games for the Thunder this season.

WORKING OT - Wichita and Missouri decided last night's contest in regulation, which was the first time in the last four games that didn't need overtime. The previous three meetings that went to an extra period all took place at Silverstein Eye Center Arena. Wichita is 3-3 in games decided in overtime and 1-1 in games decided in the shootout.

CAREER HIGH - Louick Marcotte recorded his 14th goal of the season on Wednesday night. He needs two more to equal his totals from last season, his rookie year, in Adirondack where he collected 16 goals. He has already set a new career high in assists (19) and points (33). He has points in three-straight games (2g, 1a) heading into tonight's game with Missouri.

MAJOR - James Melindy is third among defensemen with 12 majors, second in penalty minutes among defensemen with 184 and second in minor penalties with 47.

LOWE PLACES - Ian Lowe recorded an assist last night, giving him 206 points in Thunder blue. He needs nine points to reach 30, which he has accomplished in each of the last four years with the Thunder.

Vincent Arseneau is tied for fourth with five shorthanded points and tied for first with four shorthanded goals...Wichita is fifth in the league in shorthanded goals (12)...Wichita is fifth in the league in penalty minutes per game (17.95)...Wichita is 11th in the league in shots for per game (32.56)...Wichita is second to last in games past regulation (8)...Wichita is 12-2-2-1 when leading after two...
