Wichita, KS (Oct. 7th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, hosts the Tulsa Oilers today in an exhibition game starting at 7 p.m. at the Wichita Ice Center.
Wichita and Tulsa have met 12 times in preseason play with the Thunder holding an edge in the series, 8-3-1. The last time the two teams met prior to the start of a season came back in 2013-14 when the Thunder knocked off the Oilers in a shootout at the Wichita Ice Center by the final of 4-3.
Overall, Wichita is 21-20-3 in preseason games and holds an all-time record of 16-5-3 at home. Wichita has hosted the Allen Americans the last two exhibition contests and have played six-straight preseason tilts in the Air Capital.
Tickets for the game will be just $10 and are on sale at the Thunder office. Fans can still get tickets at the door. Price of admission will also allow fans to watch the Wichita Junior Thunder take on the Cheyenne Stampede, which starts at 4 p.m.
The 26th season of Thunder hockey kicks off on Friday, October 13th against the Indy Fuel.
