Thunder Closes Opening Weekend Tonight vs. Allen

Wichita, KS (Oct. 13th) - After an exciting shootout win last night, Wichita prepares to host arch-rival, Allen, tonight at 7:05 p.m. at INTRUST Bank Arena.

Tonight is the first of 14 meetings between the Thunder and the Americans and the first of three-straight between the two teams. Allen comes back to Wichita on Friday, October 19th and then the two teams head south to Texas on Saturday, October 20th at the Allen Event Center.

Both teams were in action last night as the Americans fell by the final of 5-1 to the Kansas City Mavericks. The Thunder snagged a 3-2 shootout victory against the Idaho Steelheads.

Jakob Stukel and Stuart Skinner collected a couple of firsts last night for Wichita. Stukel netted his first pro goal and Skinner earned his first pro win. Pierre-Cedric Labrie also recorded his first goal in the ECHL after spending the majority of his career in the American Hockey League.

All-time, Wichita is 27-51-7 against Allen and 14-22-5 at home in the series. The Thunder went 6-6-0-0 last year against Allen and 3-3-0-0 at home.
