Moline, IL (Feb. 3rd) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers, AHL's Bakersfield Condors and powered by Toyota, begins a six-game road trip tonight at the TaxSlayer Center against the Quad City Mallards.
Tonight is the last visit of the season for the Thunder to Moline to take on the Mallards. Both teams are coming off wins last night. Quad City defeated Kalamazoo by the final of 6-2 while Wichita won at home against Tulsa by the final of 4-1. The Thunder stopped a two-game slide with the victory and stayed two points ahead of Allen for third place in the Mountain Division. Quad City has won two in a row and is in seventh place in the Central with 30 points.
Wichita has won the first three meetings in the season-series against Quad City. The Thunder grabbed a 3-2 overtime win on Black Friday against the Mallards and then won the next night at home by the final of 4-2. In the last meeting on January 5th, Wichita knocked off Quad City, 6-3.
Matt Pohlkamp leads the Mallards with three points (2g, 1a) against Wichita. Travis Brown (3g, 1a) and Samuel Thibault (4a) lead the way with four points for Wichita against the Quad City.
