Wichita, KS (Oct. 10th) - The Wichita Thunder, ECHL affiliate of the Ottawa Senators and powered by Toyota, announced two rosters moves this afternoon. The team has signed defenseman Nick Trecapelli to a contract for the 2016-17 season while forward Miles Koules has been assigned to the Thunder by the Ontario Reign of the American Hockey League. Trecapelli, 25, was released from his tryout agreement with the American Hockey League's Binghamton Senators. A native of Guelph, Ontario the 6-foot-2, 216-pound defenseman appeared in seven games last season for the Senators and also played two games for the Evansville IceMen. Prior to turning pro, Trecapelli played a four-year career for the University of Guelph where he tallied 65 points (12g, 53a) in 101 games.
Koules, 22, was acquired by the Thunder last season in a trade with the Quad City Mallards. He had 13 points (3g, 10a) in 44 games for Quad City and finished the season on fire, tallying 13 points (4g, 9a) in 15 games for Wichita. The 6-foot, 193-pound forward signed with the Reign in the offseason and attended Los Angeles Kings rookie camp in September.
The Thunder kicks off their 25th Anniversary season on Saturday, October 15th against the Tulsa Oilers. Season tickets are on sale now. Place a $25 deposit for up to four seats and pay it off in 14 payments. Contact a Thunder representative at the office today.
